Oriflame keeps building its niche Top Scents line with two new fragrances at once — La La Lime and Tropic Thunder. It's a pair with real character: the first plays on juicy citrus, the second dives into creamy tropics. Here's how they smell, who created them and who each one suits.
Top Scents — niche perfumery by Oriflame
Top Scents is the collection where Oriflame deliberately steps away from the mass market and offers more complex, ‘perfumery’ compositions in eau de parfum (Eau de Parfum) format. The fragrances are created by young, next-generation perfumers — so at an accessible price you get a genuinely niche approach to scent. La La Lime and Tropic Thunder are a logical addition to this philosophy: two different moods that are easy to collect side by side.
How Top Scents was created: the Givaudan school competition
Top Scents isn’t just a collection — it’s the result of a first-of-its-kind creative competition. Oriflame brought together seven emerging perfumers from the Givaudan Perfumery School in Paris, the institution that has trained around a third of the world’s leading perfumery talent. Participants from Japan, Poland, France, Italy, the USA, South Africa and Brazil responded to creative briefs from Oriflame and created six niche fragrances. The final compositions were chosen by a jury of master perfumers led by Calice Becker, Headmaster of the Givaudan Perfumery School, alongside the Oriflame community at global conferences. La La Lime was created by Italy’s Andrea Montanari and Tropic Thunder by Poland’s Jacek Laszczyński.
La La Lime — brisk lime with a clean woody finish
The fragrance was created by perfumer Andrea Montanari. At first, La La Lime is a realistic lime — like a freshly mixed cocktail — reading incredibly juicy, fresh and green. The opening is joined by juicy bergamot and green petitgrain that spark a bright, optimistic feeling from the very first spritz. The scent then shifts into a sense of cleanliness — a clean, fresh-linen heart where musky shades fill the citrus with sunshine, while orange blossom and Petalia add a modern touch. It all closes on a subtle woody accent: a base of Akigalawood, Ambrofix and patchouli leaves a dry, woody sensuality — that ‘grown-up’ finish that lingers on skin.

Who it's for: anyone who loves fresh, energetic citrus for everyday wear but wants a ‘grown-up’ woody finish rather than something that fades within an hour. Unisex — it suits women and men alike. View La La Lime →
Tropic Thunder — creamy tropics with a woody trail
Tropic Thunder was crafted by perfumer Jacek Laszczyński. At its core is sun-warmed green fig: juicy yet airy, fresh yet creamy — a captivating contrast. It’s picked up by juicy peach and ripe, faintly boozy davana that evoke a sense of tropical adventure. Exotic fruits swirl in creamy coconut milk, while powdery almond and sweet white orchid add refinement. Everything closes on an alchemy of warm musky-woody notes with sandalwood and cedar — the very notes that make the trail cosy, long-lasting and genuinely tropical.

Who it's for: lovers of warm, creamy, cosy fragrances for evenings and the cooler season. This is the kind of scent that feels like comfort. View Tropic Thunder →
La La Lime or Tropic Thunder — how to choose
The easiest way is to go by mood and season. La La Lime — fresh, daytime, energetic, citrus-woody: perfect for heat, work, sport and a fast pace. Tropic Thunder — warm, creamy, evening, tropical-woody: for cosiness, dates and cooler weather. And if you want both moods on hand — they complement each other beautifully in the collection.

Longevity, sillage and when to wear
Both fragrances are eau de parfum (EDP), so they hold up well: several hours on skin and a noticeable sillage in the first hours. La La Lime sits closer to the skin and drier — a ‘clean’ woody citrus for everyday. Tropic Thunder gives a warmer, more noticeable trail and blooms best in cooler weather. Both are unisex.
